We made our way to Heritage Park for our very first Day Out with Thomas, one of Heritage Park’s most popular events, and even though the rain decided to come along for the ride, it turned out to be such a sweet, cozy day for our little fam.
Today's post is all about what we got up to and the memories I created with my little ones.
-
Rode the train pulled by Thomas — about 20 minutes around the park, and such a lovely ride
-
Got train ride certificates — so cute!
-
Met Sir Topham Hatt — iconic moment.
-
Explored the craft and activity tents — from crafts, games, face painting, tattoos, and so much more
Found shelter when needed and made the most of the drizzle — a few wet high-fives here and there 😂

Tips for a Great Day Out
- Book Early: Tickets sell out quickly, especially for popular time slots.
- Dress for the Weather: Calgary’s weather has a mind of its own, so pack layers, rain gear, and comfy shoes.
- Arrive Early: Give yourself time to enjoy all the activities before or after your train ride.
- Explore the Park: Don’t rush off! Heritage Park is full of surprises, and there’s so much to see beyond the event itself.
