Tade’s First Fire Station Visit: A Sweet Preschool Field Trip to Remember

Welcome back to #WemsCorner. Today’s post is all about my baby Tade’s first-ever visit to a fire station. This was a preschool field trip that happened sometime in April. If you know me well, you already know how much I love documenting our firsts (and if you don't, now you know), and this one definitely deserves a special spot on my blog, of course. That being said, let’s get into it.

So, my baby's preschool class took a field trip to Country Hills Fire Station 31and his dad got to go as one of the parent volunteers, which made it even more special. It was his very first time seeing a real fire station up close, and from all the stories he shared afterward, I could tell he had the best time.

He came back home bubbling with all the excitement, telling me about the big red fire trucks, all the equipment he saw and touched, and what they got up to. One of his favourite parts was getting to try out some of the tools the firefighters use. The team was kind enough to let the kids explore a few of the items safely, which made everything even more hands-on and fun. He was especially fascinated by the size of everything and how loud the sirens could get. You could just feel the joy in his voice.

This may have been a short preschool trip, but it meant a lot to him. He got to explore a new environment, learn about real-life heroes, and experience something completely different from his usual day. That spark of wonder and curiosity is exactly why I love these little moments. It is such a gift to watch him experience the world in new ways, and this fire station visit is now one more memory added to the collection. I was not there for this one, but hearing how much fun he had was more than enough.

A huge thank you to my partner in everything for capturing the entire experience so beautifully, just the way I like it. Oh, and one last thing, before they left, the firefighters gave each child a fire station activity book to take home as a souvenir and to learn more, which I love.

If you have little ones who love trucks, tools, or anything hands-on, I definitely recommend adding a fire station visit to your list. It’s such a simple but meaningful way to spark curiosity and create memories.

That will be all from me today. Another sweet first documented, another happy memory tucked into our story. Thank you for stopping by my little corner of the internet today. Until next time… Xoxo 💋
