Las Vegas with Kids: My Top 5 Family-Friendly Picks

Las Vegas might not scream “family vacation,” but after visiting with my squad, I can honestly say it can totally work. We weren’t out to do it all or fill every second with activities. Instead, we planned a mix of fun stops that felt just right for our family: lighthearted, low-stress, and full of cute memories.

If you're thinking about taking your kids to Vegas (or you're already booked and wondering what to do), here are 5 family-friendly things we actually did and genuinely enjoyed with our kids in Las Vegas.

🏨 Where to Stay in Las Vegas with Kids

If you’re visiting Las Vegas as a family, staying somewhere comfortable and well-located makes a big difference. We found that being close to attractions like the Strip, Mandalay Bay, and The LINQ Promenade made it easier to get around with kids without feeling rushed.

There are plenty of family-friendly hotels in Las Vegas with spacious rooms, pools, and easy access to attractions. When traveling with kids, staying somewhere central makes the day feel less rushed and a lot more manageable.

This was a calm and cool escape from the Vegas heat and the busy Strip. The walk-through tunnel was beautiful, and the kids really enjoyed watching the sharks swim overhead. We spotted sea turtles, stingrays, jellyfish, and so many cool underwater creatures. But my personal favourite? The octopus. I was completely mesmerized. It was honestly the highlight for me. The aquarium isn’t huge, which makes it just right for little legs. We strolled through at our own pace, pointed things out, and soaked it all in without feeling rushed.

We rode the High Roller just before sunset, and the timing was beautiful. The golden glow over the Strip, with views of the Sphere and even the Bellagio fountains, made the experience feel extra scenic. The ride lasted about 15 to 20 minutes and was slow and comfortable. Overall, it was a little underwhelming for us, but still very kid-friendly and relaxing. If you're planning to go, I would highly recommend booking an evening slot to enjoy the lights and views without the daytime heat.

I mean... did you really go to Vegas if you didn’t stop here? We went early in the day to beat the heat and avoid the crowds, and it turned out to be a quick, fun stop. Nothing too crazy here, but definitely one of those postcard-worthy moments. It’s classic, super photogenic, and a nice way to say yep, we were really here.

Simple, free, and surprisingly magical. My kiddos loved it, and so did I. We first caught the Bellagio Fountain Show around noon, and it was still fun to see, even in the daytime. Later that day, I went back on my own in the evening, and the vibe was completely different. The music, lights, and water all came together in the most beautiful way. It was the perfect wind-down moment and such a nice reminder to pause and soak it all in.

Over the top in the best way. The themed jungle setting, animal sounds, and interactive vibe kept the kids completely entertained from the moment we walked in. It’s one of those places where the experience matters more than the menu, and it absolutely delivered.

🎉 Bonus Stops Worth Checking Out
  • The Selfie Museum: This was one of those “I hope we find time for it” spots, and, boom, I stumbled on it while strolling around The LINQ Promenade before our High Roller ride. Bright backdrops, silly poses, and lots of places for cute pictures. My kiddos spent most of their time in the ball pit and absolutely loved it.

  • Seven Magic Mountains: Just outside the city, but absolutely worth the quick trip. The colorful boulders stacked in the middle of the desert are such a fun photo spot. Bold, artsy, and a great way to wrap up the trip with something totally different from the Strip.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions About Visiting Las Vegas with Kids

  • Is Las Vegas a good destination for families? Yes, it can be. While Las Vegas is known for its nightlife, there are plenty of family-friendly attractions that work well with kids. With a little planning and realistic expectations, Vegas can be fun, manageable, and surprisingly enjoyable as a family trip.
  • How many days in Las Vegas is enough with kids? For families, 2 to 3 days is usually plenty. That gives you enough time to enjoy a few attractions without feeling overwhelmed or exhausted. Shorter trips tend to work better with kids and help keep energy levels up.
  • Is the Las Vegas Strip walkable with kids? Parts of the Strip are walkable, but distances can be deceiving. Elevators, pedestrian bridges, and crowds can slow things down. Planning fewer stops per day and using rides when needed makes it much easier with kids.
  • What area of Las Vegas is best to stay in with kids? Staying somewhere central along the Strip or close to family-friendly attractions helps a lot. Being near places like Mandalay Bay or The LINQ Promenade made it easier for us to get around without feeling rushed.
  • Do you need to book attractions in advance when visiting Las Vegas with kids? It’s a good idea, especially during busy seasons. Booking tickets ahead of time can help you skip lines and plan your day around your kids’ energy levels, which makes the experience much smoother.
