Happy Thanksgiving from my family to yours! 🦃 This year's Thanksgiving was all about family gatherings, sharing delicious food, playing games, and soaking up every bit of family time with loved ones. Thanksgiving in Canada brings the chance to slow down and reflect on all the little blessings we hold dear
Today’s post is a glimpse into our Thanksgiving day – from our cozy table setting to the fun moments we shared. Without further ado, here’s how we celebrated!
Setting a Cozy Thanksgiving Table
I wanted our Thanksgiving table to feel cozy and welcoming, so I chose a mix of warm fall colors that brought the season indoors.
Our Thanksgiving Menu Potluck 🥘
Our Thanksgiving menu was a team family effort! My sister and I teamed up and we came up with a menu that had something for everyone. Here’s a peek at our combined menu:
- Starter: Puff-puff (a nod to our Nigerian roots)
- Main Course: Jollof rice and roasted stir-fried potatoes with brussels sprouts
- Protein/Sides: Asun (spicy grilled goat), roasted turkey, and fresh salad
- Dessert: Classic pumpkin pie to end on a sweet note
Celebrating My First Thanksgiving Turkey! 🦃
Guess who finally tackled cooking the Thanksgiving turkey this year? This was my very first attempt, and with a little help from YouTube, I was able to finally make my first Turkey and it came out both beautiful and perfect. I might just have to make it a tradition!

Family Time Highlights
The best part of Thanksgiving for me is spending quality time with my loved ones! Glad my sister's family joined us and our time together was filled with laughter and bonding
