2019 in Review

My yearly review is here and i'm so excited about this. If you are new to my blog, here is my 2017 and 2018 review here and here. That being said, let's talk about 2019 (the end of a sweet decade). There were so many beautiful milestones that we experienced this year as a family and as individuals but as usual, i'm only going to share my top 5 highlights of 2019 in no particular order.

1. Our marriage made it to the 5th year - On the 28th of July, our marriage clocked the big 5 (whoop whoop). I cannot believe it myself. Time went by really fast and Guess what? next year, it will be exactly 10 years since we met. Yeah, I have known my husband for over 9 years. I am so blessed to have him in my life. He is not just my lover, he is my mentor, role model, best friend and everything that I wanted in my man. He is not perfect but he is just perfect for me. We have gone through a lot together in these past five years of being together, we have shared both positive and negative moments but one way or the other, we have learnt to hold each other's hand as we walk through this journey. Looking back, I am so blessed, happy and satisfied with the first five years of this journey and definitely looking forward to what the next few years has in store for us. For some reason, my anniversary post didn't make it here but talking about highlights, that was definitely one of my highlights of 2019.

The beginning (July, 2014)😍

The 5th year (July 2019)😍
2. Teni darling shark two two - Can my year be complete without my TeniB? Well, I don't think so. We crossed over to the "twos" this year (whoop whoop). Remember how people say the terrible twos? Well, we are half way done that phase and me and my Tenten have had lot of arguments in this new age already😂. Y'all be wondering what we are arguing about? Well, my daughter's favourite word is "no" so you can already imagine the kind of arguements, we have been having (hahahaha). I wouldn't say it's a terrible two, these kids just want to explore the world and play tricks to be honest. However, in general, it's been a very interesting journey for me to watch her grow and I know it's becoming a clichè but being a mom is one of the best things that has ever happened to me in my entire life. I cannot believe it that my little Teni of yesterday is now talking. Looking forward to creating so many beautiful memories with her in 2020 but before then, I must say 2019 was a good one with my favourite bunny.

My little tiny sweet bunny😍

My big bunny😍 (how time flies)
Talking about creating memories, how is cute this letter we got from the North Pole from Santa #LoveEet😍

3. My one year Workversary - Yes to work-ish!!! First of all, let me mention that relocating to a new country and having to start working as a newbie in Canada isn't a walk in the park especially if you have a family. That being said, I am very proud of myself for the many caps I wore this year as a working mum, chef, nurse, teacher, to mention a few and slayed it all. Some days were fun, while some were gloomy. I have gone through all the emotions this year (smile, laugh, cry, anger, amongst others) but each day, I still carry my bag and head out again. The truth is being a working mom is not an easy one especially when you don't have a lot of help. Myself and my husband started this journey alone as working parents and we have been trying our best to succeed at it. We might not be the best of Parents out there but i'm very sure we are the best Parent to our little kiddo. In general, work itself was good. Reached some milestones, added another role to my current role and also got better at what i'm doing. For that i'm so grateful and definitely looking forward to 2020 and more goals that i'm planning ahead to smash.

4. One year later in Canada - Guess what? it's been a whole year in Canada. I know I celebrate everything. Well, that's the essence of my blog😄(I love keeping memories alive). To be honest, one year went by really fast. I blinked and it was one year already. It was an eventful one year journey for us. The best part of it for me will be how we started from the beginning and tried to move gradually to where we are now. If you check my bye bye to Sweden, hello Canada post here, I mentioned how we had to squeeze over 3 years possession into 6 boxes😥. That wasn't fun but we had to do, what we had to do. Like I always say, the journey hasn't been a perfect one and I know it can never be but looking back now, one year later, I will say i'm grateful for the first year. I wrote about the top 5 things I love about Canada after our one year journey here and i'm definitely looking forward to what 2020 and beyond has in store for us in our new home😍

5. Finally, my blog got better in everything: I got more readers this year, I did one collaboration with a mum. I added a new tab (whoop whoop). To be honest, I feel like I have created the best "look-back" website for myself. I sometimes just read my 2017 posts and be like "oh waow, this actually happened in 2017". Personally, I also feel that everybody needs either a blog page or a YouTube channel. It doesn't have to be for anybody especially if you don't like to share personal related issues but maybe for yourself. There are millions of memories/milestones that we have experienced and forgotten just like that but these platforms have been created to help keep those memories alive. It's not an easy thing to do, I have to mention that but for me, this is my happy place and my hobby aswell. No matter how overwhelming my day was, once i'm in here and I read one or two articles, i'm good to go for that day. I remember I wrote an article here on ways to keep memories alive, you can check it out for ideas, if you are interested in keeping your memories alive aswell. Best believe, I have accounts on every platform I mentioned in that post including YouTube. It's just hard to keep up with everything. That being said, 2019 has been good blog wise and I am definitely looking forward to better contents in 2020. I have gotten better in my writing and my contents. Although, I didn't write as much as I did in 2018 but no regrets at all. Lest I forget, one of my best highlights was reaching the 50th article on my blog which I wrote about here. I can't believe I have written that much myself.

For all I have achieved in 2019, I am totally grateful. There were so many other beautiful memories that happened in 2019 like our road trip to Edmonton, getting a new car, my birthday, meet ups/dinner with friends & family amongst others that I didn't share in my top 5 highlights but i'm still grateful for all these and so much more. 2019 wasn't a smooth year without it's own challenges. There were failures, loss of loved ones, setbacks, a lot of mood swings and so many tiring days. But I have long known/ accepted that all these are part of the growth and process. I'm still growing, still learning and definitely looking forward to the beginning of a new decade, 2020. I do not have a lot of expectations for this new decade to be honest. The plan is just to keep being me and taking one day at a time. In conclusion, I hope you also have 1 or 2 reasons to be thankful in 2019. Do not allow the set backs of the year to overshadow your victories. The more you open your heart to gratitude, the more you become content with what you have. I hope you have a beautiful and memorable 2020. Cheers! Cheers!! & Cheers!!! 🥂...Until next time...💋
